2025 Season information

27 Feb

There are a few new things going on here at MBNC for the 2025 season to ensure things run smoothly and to help make sure players are getting a fair game:

  • Club Registrations
  • Individual Registrations
  • Senior Registrations
  • Teams involvement in supplying umpires
  • Coaches of Year 5 & 6 teams

Club and Individual Registrations

  • Years 5-13 -Register themselves with their club. Your club will invoice you for payment of fee's.
  • Year 1-4 - Have the option to register through MBNC as individuals if they are not coming through a club. Your club or MBNC will invoice for fee's depending on who you have registered through.
  • Seniors - Registrations process remains the same as individuals through MBNC. Please place your team name in the required box. If you don’t know the team name just write “Monica’s team” or something reasonably identifiable so we are able to build teams in our software easily.

Umpiring requirements

Umpiring is a critical part of netball. If we are umpired better we can play better. 2024 saw a drive to create umpires that understood the rules, and could apply those new rules on court.

In 2025 we are looking to strengthen that position, with additional umpiring theory courses but also practical umpiring workshops and support.

Umpires will be specifically trained around aggressive play. All grades and genders will be kept to the same rules.  Eg; There is to be NO spiking of the ball, this is not part of netball.

  • Every team requires an umpire to be provided by your club/school.
  • The nominated umpires MUST have attended a theory course.
    • If they have attended 2024 theory course, then they must attend an umpiring practical workshop in 2025.
    • This applies to all grades and ages.
    • There will be a small cost of $20 p.p associated with each course
  • Umpries will be rostered, supported and co-ordinated by MBNC.
  • The umpire that has been provided by your school/club may not necessarily be alloated to a specific team or club each week.

The following will be required from each grade:

Senior Teams:

  • 2 Players from each team must attend an umpire course. These two players will need to be available to umpire on the duty roster for the 6pm and 7pm rounds (the round umpiring will be the opposite to the round your team is playing in)
  • Your selected umpire for the season will need to ahve completed the umpire courses as stated above (unless they hold umpire qualifications, proof may be requested)

Years 5-13 teams:

  • If a player wishes to umpire this season then they must attend a course either theory or practical. We recomend a coach or support adult attends also. Please see our events Tab for these scheduled courses for 2025.
